A custom cabinet, a paneled library, a set of fine doors, these are only as beautiful as the finish that completes them.
A custom cabinet, a paneled library, a set of fine doors — these are only as beautiful as the finish that completes them. For ninety years, Ira Walden & Sons has been the finishing house Palm Beach’s homeowners, designers, and cabinetmakers trust with their finest woodwork.
As an in-house, full-service finishing house, we bring cabinetry and millwork to their final, defining layer — lacquer, stain, glaze, and hand-applied detail, executed with the care fine woodwork deserves.
The carpentry may be flawless, but it is the finish that the eye meets and the hand touches. A finish sets the depth of a stain, the sheen of a lacquer, the richness of a paneled wall. It is the layer that turns fine woodwork into a finished room, and it is the layer we have spent generations perfecting.
Fine finishing for custom cabinetry, from crisp painted and lacquered kitchens to richly stained cabinet work.
Paneled walls, libraries, built-ins, and architectural millwork, finished to bring out the character of the wood or the perfection of a painted surface.
Interior doors, vanities, and the fine woodwork details that run throughout a luxury home.
We are most often brought in alongside a cabinetmaker, general contractor, or interior designer, the finishing hand on woodwork that others have built and designed.
We know how to work as part of that team, matching a specified finish precisely and delivering the standard the whole project is held to.
