Some homes are more than residences, they are part of Palm Beach’s architectural story. For ninety years, Ira Walden & Sons has helped preserve that story, restoring and enhancing the beauty of luxury residences and architectural landmarks across the island.
To restore a historic home is to care for something irreplaceable, and it is work we approach with the respect, research, and craftsmanship it deserves.
Palm Beach is defined by its landmarks, the estates and residences that give the island its character. We have painted and finished these homes for generations, and we understand what it means to work on a house that carries history in its walls.
Our role is not simply to refresh a surface, but to preserve the beauty and integrity of a home that deserves to endure.
The careful restoration of decorative finishes, period detail, and original surfaces — matching technique, texture, and tone to what came before.
Painting and finishing that respects the era and architecture of the home, using the right products and approaches for historic surfaces.
Restoration and refinishing of shutters, metal grills, railings, gates, and the architectural details that define a period facade.
The restoration of a significant home is rarely the work of one hand.
We collaborate with architects, interior designers, and preservation-minded homeowners as the finishing and decorative craftsmen on the team — trusted to deliver work worthy of the home and the effort surrounding it.

Historic finish restoration involves carefully preserving or recreating decorative finishes, painted surfaces, textures, colors, and architectural details associated with the original character of a property. The objective is to respect what came before rather than simply covering an aging surface with a new finish.
