Palm Beach is unlike anywhere else, an island whose character was authored a century ago and has been protected ever since. For ninety years, Ira Walden & Sons has painted, finished, and restored the homes that give the island its beauty. This is our home, and there is no market we know more intimately.
When Addison Mizner and Maurice Fatio shaped Palm Beach in the 1920s, the Mediterranean Revival estates, the barrel-tile roofs, the arches and courtyards and ornamental ironwork set a standard that still defines the island today.
Ira Walden & Sons has been here almost since. Founded in 1935, our firm grew up alongside these homes, and we have spent generations caring for the finishes that make them extraordinary.
Few in our trade can say they have been part of the island’s architectural life for nearly a century. We can.
From historic estates to contemporary residences, our work respects the architecture and character of each Palm Beach home.
Generations of experience inform the preparation, products, techniques, and finishing details behind every project.
Our reputation has been built through longstanding relationships with homeowners and design professionals throughout the island.
The island’s homes ask for more than ordinary work. Stucco and cast-stone facades under coastal sun and salt air; painted beamed ceilings and fine interior millwork; wrought-iron gates, grilles, and railings; the decorative detail that distinguishes a Palm Beach estate.
We understand these homes because we have worked on them for decades and we bring to each the products, techniques, and care that the island’s finest properties require.
We offer the full range of our craft to Palm Beach homeowners, from refined interior and exterior painting to specialized decorative finishes and sensitive restoration work.
